When Better Together ND was founded in June 2022 by Mason Ware and Marie Knodel in Fargo, the vision was simple and powerful: to ensure that no North Dakotan has to navigate the road to recovery alone. In just a few short years, that vision has expanded statewide.

Better Together ND has grown into a vital support network serving communities across North Dakota through the Free Through Recovery, Community Connect, and 1915(i) programs. With regional hubs in Fargo, Grand Forks, Wahpeton, Bismarck, and Dickinson, the organization provides essential care coordination and peer support services that bridge healthcare, housing initiatives, and social services. At every level, the work is guided by the belief that meaningful recovery happens when people are supported, respected, and connected.
